Are you looking to raise patient satisfaction and see growth in new business?
Odds are, the Hawthorne Effect is not something you would associate with healthcare marketing, but it might be the key to unlocking all your potential.
So what is the Hawthorne Effect? It is simply the belief that performance will improve when work is being measured. Imagine it this way, when you were a child and your parents wanted you to clean your room; you were much more motivated when they were watching you than if they weren’t, right?
Right! Same principle can come in handy for your healthcare brand. You won’t know where your organization needs improvement if you don’t start measuring the success. And, your people will be much more motivated to do their jobs well if they’re striving for a goal and reaping some reward
There’s a few ways you can start measuring the success of your organization. Creating a survey for patients to take is a great and inexpensive way to gain some feedback and see where you can improve. Internal surveys are also valuable when it comes to improving the core of your organization.
Managing your performance is the only way you will find out how successful you are, or aren’t. Having a defined goal that everyone is striving for can improve moral, especially if there is some type of reward for meeting said goal. Make sure you establish this goal immediately and have a way to measure progress, whether it be patient numbers or influx of profit.
Remember, if you aren’t an active participant in managing the progress of your goals and effectively pushing surveys, you aren’t doing all you can do to make your organization successful.
